In 2002, CScout created the first non-traditional “tour” for innovators and executives, and the response was overwhelming. Our Trend Tour market immersions take clients onto the streets and into shops, boardrooms, and even consumer’s homes to understand the reality of the market and think in new ways. We also conduct moderated consumer panels and expert round tables, giving you firsthand insights and the ability to ask candid questions.

Our guides speak the local language of consumers, but also the language of marketing and business, and are experts in their fields. Our goal is to make your time, even if it’s just an extra day between meetings, more valuable and efficient. We manage the entire tour for you, from location scouting to agenda planning to documenting the experience. Tours can range from one day to a week, with an average of five meetings or site visits each day.

Case Study: Trend Tour & Ideation

Starting in 2008, CScout has conducted Trend Tours combined with Ideation Workshops. This offers a unique blend of immersion and insights. Together with the client, we explore innovative hotspots focusing on key themes, conduct lead-user sessions and expert panels, and then finish each day with a two-hour workshop. The tour culminates in a full-day ideation workshop at the end of the week. This intense setup generates amazing insights and actionable ideas and has been booked by global telecommunication, CPG/FMCG, and automotive clients.

Case Study: SK Telecom

CScout led Trend Tours and Ideation Workshops to help South Korea’s largest mobile phone operator develop new business opportunities. Company leaders spent two days in New York and San Francisco touring sites and speaking with experts and power users, and another two days getting feedback on new business concepts.

Case Study: Media-Saturn

CScout has conducted a variety of Trend Scans and Trend Tours on the latest innovations and new business opportunities for consumer electronics for Media-Saturn, the largest consumer electronics retailer in Europe.

Focus: Innovation

We spent a week in Tokyo with the 25-person design team of a German automotive company. This full-immersion tour incorporated meetings with famous Japanese designers, innovative companies, and culminated in a city-wide GPS “scavenger hunt” in a fleet of rental cars. Every day concluded with ideation sessions to “de-brief” and examine the day.

CScout lead a two-day Tokyo tour for retail innovators of a large U.K. fashion chain interested in finding the latest in retail POS marketing and design.
