WiFi coverage gets wider in Hong Kong

virtual-china-pccw-phone-booth.jpgThose having trouble finding a WiFi hotpsot in Hong Kong will be heartened by the Hong Kong government’s recently launched Wi-Fi program which aims to roll out more than 2000 new hotspots by the middle of next year. The program will cover libraries, government offices, job centers, public inquiry centers, sports, cultural and recreation centers, community centers and parks, providing free internet access across the city. Over 1,000 hotspots have already been installed this year.

And for those who still can’t find a free hotspot, communications provider PCCW has set up more than 400 special phone booths across Hong Kong which integrate paid Wi-Fi access.
