The Shenzhen-based Chocolate Agency is out to make slap bracelets cool again with a digital re-take on a popular design. The agency’s innovative e-paper slap bracelets, which are still at the concept stage, are made from a thin, flexible, high contrast screen that can display images. The length can be altered by adding magnetically attached extenders, and the bracelet is powered by the body’s natural motion.
While this uber-cool piece of electronic jewelry may still be some way from becoming reality, advances in e-paper technology promise to spawn further examples of digital fashion in the near future. LG Philips recently announced the world’s first 14.1-inch flexible color e-paper display baed technology, and Samsung have used E Ink technology to set a new world record for the resolution of a large flexible color display.
