Lenovo goes Green(er) with its new ThinkCenter Desktop
Last week, Lenovo released its ThinkCenter M57/57P Eco ultra small desktop PC, the first ever to receive a GreenGuard certification. This certification means the computer has gone through a test for 2000 different chemical emissions. More than that, it is EPEAT Gold rated, Energy Star 4.0 rated, and the first ThinkCenter made of recyclable material.
ThinkCenter M57/57P Eco features a high level of manageability and security and in the meanwhile is ultra small - 25 percent smaller than previous products. By applying the most advanced Trusted Platform Module( TPM) security chip, the desktop computer encrypts personal data – keys, passwords, digital certificates etc. – with its hardware, thus provides external software attacks. Moreover, M57/57P is the quietest in all modes of operation among ThinkCenter computers.
Other than above-mentioned advantages, M57/57P assumes the whole suite of ThinkVantage technologies, such as to recover and update the system with the touch of one button. Its installation of Intel vPro technology allows computer technicians to maintain system from mechanical centers far away.
Energy-saving has been a major theme for Lenovo, the world-famous personal computer manufacturer based in Beijing. Back in last September, Lenovo announced a solar powered desktop computer ThinkCenter A61e, which uses 50% less power than other computers. The current version of M57/57P is priced at $699, $300 higher than A61e.
