CScout has already introduced a bunch of pervasive games. Please read our previous entries about Pervasive Gaming. Now it is time to get into action. StreetWars, a three week long, 24/7, watergun assassination tournament is coming back to NYC from September 25th to October 16th.

Street Wars:
Weapons of choice are watergun handguns, water ballons or Super Soakers. Except for the sign up process, promotion and first information there are no high tech devices involved. But Street Wars warriors of course use MySpace and YouTube to post their portraits and short movies about their assassination adventure. To sign up, players have to be over 18 years old, and – due to the stress factor -not live with their parents anymore. To sign up, players have to submit their profile and pictures as well as a registration fee of $40 per player (usually around 150). There is also the option to play as a team. Assignments have to be picked up late at night in the cover or darkness, 24 hours before the game start on the 25th of September at midnight. Afterwards, players can’t feel safe anymore, except in buses and at bus stops, inside bars (not restaurants!), and the square city block where they work. If somebody gets hit he has to hand his assignment over to his killer. Disputes are settled by the “Supreme Commander” and his comrade, the “Mustache Commander”. Naturally the last survivor will be the winner of the game, being able to pocket up to $500 and a bottle of whiskey. Sign up until September 15th!

Next to some more information, the Thrillist, a dangerously informative email newsletter about happenings, gear, and drinks, also has some pre-designed email-invitations for “lacking in practical experience” and “getting whacked”.
