Update:
Especially in Asia, interactive Kiosks are used to provide entertainment content. Music companies in China make the biggest slice of their revenue by offering downloadable content to mobile subscribers. According to the market consultancy “Analysys International†sales in the mobile music market reached 2.66 billion yuan (US$ 330 million) in 2004 and 6.4 million yuan (US$763 million) in 2005. Rock mobile, founded by the Taiwanese record heavyweight Rock Records, combines the power of mobile and music. Now the company offers not only music for cell phones, but is expanding into new kinds of entertainment on the go. One of the biggest projects is the new Music Kiosk Networks. These in-store Kiosks offer music downloads right in the store. The big flat-panel television displays with the touch-screen interface are easy to use and also allow advertisements to be delivered through the Kiosk. Rock Mobile plans to roll out 1000 of these Kiosks in China by the end of the year.
