CScout visits Q110 – the bank of the future

Last year Deutsche Bank opened a futuristic pilot store, named “Q110″. The “Deutsche Bank der Zukunft” (German bank of the future) is located at famous Friedrichstrasse in Berlin.

CScout went to visit the innovative subsidiary. “I was positively impressed”, says CScout Managing Director Germany, Monty Metztger. “There were lots of innovative ideas. I can see lots of potential for other banks and banking services.”

First impression:
Finally somebody thought about banking of the future and how to present financial services in a more innovative and customer friendly way. The Q110 at “Friedrichstraße 181” in Berlin is worth a visit. The design and gadgetry is impressive even for somebody who does not come to take care of his finances.

Entrance Area:
The counter area is located close to the entrance. The design is stylish and airy. Some tables are set up for customer service and consultation. For the Wednesday evening events the displays can be lifted and the tables can be rolled away. The free space is big enough to host exhibitions, panels, and everything else you might think of.

Direction signs:
One of the first things you see when you enter are the gigantic LCD screens, direction signs. On the right side there is a list with the different arrays. If you push your desired area, the LCD-screen will show a map which shows the way to this certain area.

Financial services made to touch:
One of the biggest problems of financial products and services is that they are hard to grasp because you can’t actually feel and touch them. Q110 solves this problem by packing the “products” in tins. Inside the tins you find contracts for the different financial services and products plus other informational material and vouchers for the Q110 lounge. On the back of the tin there is a summary of the most important product advantages and an explanation of why this product might be interesting to you.

Multimedia terminals:
If you want to know more about the product in the box you just have to scan the imprinted barcode. The multimedia terminals are equipped with barcode scanners and show a short movie, which introduces the financial product further. At the end of each movie customers receive a voucher for a drink at the Q110 bar.
