Eco-Luxury is a subtrend of Easy-Ethics. This trend combines ecological values and luxury. Innovative products and services are catering to the growing demand for ecological and sustainable living while still allowing the cachet and comforts of luxury.
Cases.
Eco-Luxury Tourism. Eco-Tourism has been popular amongst environmentally conscious travelers for years. Eco-Luxury tourism is bringing eco-tourism to the luxury travel jet set. Some examples are the French Polynesian atoll of Tetiaroa owned by the reclusive star Marlon Brando which will become an eco-luxury hotel called The Brando or the five-star luxury E-Terra Eco-Lodge offering organic foods and incorporating innovative heating and other environmental innovations.
Eco-Luxury Shopping. Environmentally conscious stores and designers are popping up all over the place, especially online. From luxury organic food to clothing to modern lifestyle products.
Eco-Luxury Fashion. High fashion is also turning eco-luxury. Several ecologically-friendly couture designers have made their way onto the runways. These designs incorporate ecologically friendly technologies and materials such as Eco-Spun a sheepskin-like fabric made from recycled soda bottles, Lenpur made from wood pulp, Soya (made from soybeans) and Sasawashi (a mixture of Kumazasa bamboo with rice paper).
Trend Impact.
Eco-Luxury is the logical step of the New Age and environmental movement. This time it’s not students and street activists but upper liberals and global luxury consumers that are showing off their eco-luxury awareness as a status symbol.
