Yesterday I have been invited by Martin Bachmayer to explore the new Xbox 360 in Munich.
In an exclusive apartment in munich, Microsoft presented the Xbox 360 on the so-called “Livingroom Tour 2005″. I was impressed about the perfect quality and realistic graphics of the game-engine on the huge High Definition (HD) TVs. The high performance teraflop processor enables a great gaming experience, but also integrates the Microsoft Media Center as a multifunctional entertainment device.
Boris Schneider-Johne explained to me how you can connect your Xbox 360 with almost any device, e.g. your iPod, your Play Station Portable (PSP) or your Foto-Camera, to share and store content.
I also tested the new functions of Xbox Live. The online connection enables voice-chats with other gamers, exchange of the high-scores, purchase of new levels or even new car models and many more.
The new console will enable new forms of In-Game Advertising and Product-Integration. CScout Munich is currently preparing a study about “In-Game Advertising” for spring 2006.
After a golf-flight with Tiger Woods I decided to leave the controllers to the game-geeks.
