CScout Japan: Michael Keferl

Hello from Japan!

I’m Michael Keferl and I’m new to the CScout team. The work gets better every day and it feels great to stay on top of what’s going on in this crazy world.

Keeping up with a fast-paced world is a challenge, and joining the CScout team has been a major change (and challenge) for me. I’ve been working under Sven Kilian who has been guiding me, but most importantly has been forcing me even further outside the box.

It’s always great to get a topic that not only interests me, but also leads to even MORE topics. It’s a never-ending cycle that not only forces us to make quality reports, but keeps us well on the cutting edge. I hope to bring this natural progression of knowledge to my work for CScout by making it clean and succinct.

I’ve been living in Japan since early 2003 and have had a great time learning, working, and getting to know the culture here. Japanese popular culture moves very quickly and it’s always a challenge to keep up with it, but that only makes it more fun to watch.

Before coming to Japan I lived in Dayton, Ohio, USA where I worked for Cox Radio for nearly six years on and off. Most of my work involved production, on-air news updates, technical work, etc. Before and during my time with Cox I studied telecommunications at Ohio University, Athens.

In my free time I study Japanese, travel, and go to the beach as much as possible. I’ll do my best to bring CScout the latest and greatest from the Land of the Rising Sun.
